What you will be doing:
The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting and overseeing inspection activities, ensuring that all products conform to customer specifications, engineering drawings, and industry standards.
This role requires advanced proficiency in PCDMIS and PolyWorks software, along with the ability to lead inspection tasks, support trainee inspectors, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve quality-related issues.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct inspection of composite and metallic components.
Perform visual and dimensional inspections of incoming raw materials, in-process components, and finished products to ensure compliance with specifications and quality standards.
Program and operate CMMs (Coordinate Measuring Machines) using PCDMIS and PolyWorks for dimensional verification.
Interpret and apply GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) in accordance with engineering drawings and CAD models.
Lead and mentor quality inspectors, providing technical guidance and training where required.
Review inspection data, prepare accurate reports, and ensure traceable documentation is maintained.
Ensure inspection processes, equipment calibration, and quality records meet regulatory and customer requirements.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, focusing on quality assurance processes and inspection efficiency.
Act as a key point of contact during internal and external audits relating to inspection processes.
What we are looking for:
Extensive experience as a Quality Inspector within the composites, aerospace, automotive, or advanced manufacturing sectors.
Demonstrated expertise with PCDMIS and PolyWorks for CMM/AACMM programming and operation.
Strong knowledge of composite materials and associated inspection techniques.
Proficient in the use of manual and automated metrology equipment (e.g., micrometers, verniers, scanning/probing hardware, height gauges).
In-depth understanding of GD&T and engineering drawing interpretation.
Excellent communication skill both written and verbal, and leadership skills.
Ability to build excellent working relationships at all levels.
Supporting with FAIR packs (AS9102) and other related documentation required for C of C to customer parts
Experience supporting audits and customer quality reviews.
IT literate and conversant with Microsoft Office.
Your working hours:
37 hours per week
Monday - Thursday 7.30am - 4pm
Friday 7.30am - 12.30pm
Variations to these hours and overtime may be asked of you dependent on production needs.
