Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join Libre Solutions, supporting a growing pipeline of residential-led projects ranging from single dwellings through to large-scale multi-unit developments.

Libre operates as a lead planning and design coordination consultancy, working closely with developers, contractors, and local authorities. The role offers exposure across the full project lifecycle, from early cost planning and viability through to technical delivery and construction support.

The Role

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor at Libre, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality commercial and cost management services across a range of projects, ensuring best practice is applied at all stages.

Project Responsibilities

Undertake a wide range of pre- and post-contract duties, applying best practice throughout.

Prepare cost plans, estimates, and viability assessments, including value engineering and cost optimisation.

Support planning-led schemes, providing cost advice aligned to planning strategy and design development.

Prepare and review tender documentation, including bills of quantities and contractor pricing exercises.

Provide contract administration support under standard forms such as JCT and NEC.

Deliver post-contract award cost management, including valuations, variations, and final accounts.

Work closely with planning, design, and technical teams to ensure cost certainty as schemes progress.

Support construction-stage delivery where required, ensuring commercial risks are managed effectively.

Ensure projects are delivered in line with agreed budgets, programmes, and client expectations.

General Responsibilities

Always Represent Libre Solutions professionally and positively.

Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and contractors.

Provide clear and timely reporting to clients and internal stakeholders.

Support business development activity and repeat client relationships.

Mentor and support junior members of the commercial team as Libre continues to grow.

Participate in continuous professional development and knowledge sharing across the business.

Comply with internal systems, procedures, and document management protocols.

Representing Libre at meetings with clients, designers, and contractors.

Providing clear, concise commercial advice aligned to project and client objectives.

Communicating effectively with internal teams to support coordinated project delivery.

Qualifications & Experience

Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying (RICS accredited or equivalent).

Chartered status desirable or actively working towards MRICS.

Strong working knowledge of JCT and NEC forms of contract.

Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.

Experience with commercial and cost management software (e.g. CostX, CATO, Microsoft Project) is advantageous.

Proven experience delivering QS services across residential or mixed-use developments.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: 50,000.00-65,000.00 per year
