My client is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of cost estimation, control, and financial reporting throughout the lifecycle of construction projects. Responsibilities

Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets for construction projects, ensuring accuracy and completeness. Monitor project costs throughout the construction phase, implementing cost control measures to stay within budget. Conduct regular financial assessments and variance analysis to identify potential overruns or savings opportunities. Liaise with contractors, suppliers, and project managers to negotiate costs and secure competitive pricing. Prepare tender documentation and evaluate bids in accordance with project specifications. Maintain comprehensive records of all financial transactions related to each project for audit purposes. Provide advice on contractual matters relating to costs and payments, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations. Assist in the preparation of progress reports highlighting financial status and forecasts for stakeholders.

Skills

Proven experience in cost control within the construction or engineering sectors. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data accurately. Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail and accuracy. Effective communication skills for liaising with clients, contractors, and internal teams. Proficiency in relevant software such as MS Excel, CostX, or other estimating tools. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines while maintaining high standards of quality. Knowledge of current industry standards, regulations, and best practices related to quantity surveying.
