The Senior Quantity Surveyor will play a key role in the commercial management and delivery of construction projects from tender stage through to final account. The successful candidate will ensure that all projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards, while maintaining strong client and subcontractor relationships.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the commercial and financial aspects of multiple projects.
Prepare and manage project budgets, cost plans, and cash flow forecasts.
Undertake tendering and procurement of subcontract packages and materials.
Evaluate subcontractor quotations and negotiate terms and conditions.
Prepare and submit interim valuations, variations, and final accounts.
Monitor and report on project costs, margins, and progress to senior management.
Provide accurate and timely cost advice and risk analysis to project teams.
Ensure compliance with company procedures, contracts, and health & safety requirements.
Support and mentor junior quantity surveyors and commercial staff.
Liaise with clients, design teams, and site management to ensure smooth project delivery.
Essential Criteria
Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying or Construction Economics (or equivalent).
Minimum of 5-7 years' experience in a Quantity Surveying role, preferably with a main contractor.
Proven experience managing commercial aspects of medium-to-large construction projects.
Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and quantity surveying software.
Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to sites as required.
Desirable Criteria
Chartered status (MRICS or working towards chartership).
Experience within the residential, healthcare, or commercial fit-out sectors.
Familiarity with NI procurement frameworks and local building regulations.
