The Role


As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for the financial and commercial management activities for our Projects and Service & Maintenance business units from initial tender through to final account. You will ensure projects and services are delivered within budget, maintain strong relationships with clients and supply chain partners, and support the project teams with accurate cost control and commercial insight.

This role will suit someone with previous M&E contracting and Facilities Management sector experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities:



Tender and cost analysis

: Conduct initial tender analysis to determine Projects or Service contract / framework commercial risks, liaising with the Estimating team during the preparation of costings for labour, time and detailed material take offs.

Commercial analysis

: Review and advise the SLT on contracts and T&Cs and carryout client and supplier negotiations.

Change management

: Identifying and managing contract change with clients and subcontractors.

Cost control and financial management

: Monitor project and Service contract costs throughout the life cycle, track variations to the contract, produce financial reports, and manage cash flow.

Payment and valuation

: Value completed work, oversee payment schedules, and manage final accounts with clients and subcontractors ensuring timely submissions.

Risk management

: Identify, monitor and analyse commercial risks developing mitigation strategies during tender stage to final account.

Legal and contractual matters

: Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory obligations, including insurance and warranties.

Internal Governance -

establish and audit an internal commercial governance framework to manage the commercial activities and internal operations ethically and effectively

Supply chain -

Establishing strategic supply chain through structured procurement processes and ongoing supplier engagement, negotiating terms in line with the company's goals and values.

Communication -

Act as a point of contact for commercial matters to clients, Project managers and Service Managers, providing progress updates to the Senior Leadership Team.

Strategy -

Contribute to strategic business planning and assist in the development of internal commercial systems and processes.

About You



Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within an M&E contracting environment and knowledge of the Facilities management sector. Solid understanding of NEC and JCT contract forms and framework agreements. Excellent cost management, negotiation, and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Strong commercial awareness with attention to detail. Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and estimating software (e.g., Causeway, Trimble, or similar). Degree in Quantity Surveying, Building Services Engineering, or Construction Management. Full UK driving licence
