The Area 10 contract involves operating, maintaining, and upgrading the Northwest's strategic road network, including major motorways and trunk roads. You'll manage a range of schemes under the NEC TSC contract, ensuring projects are delivered efficiently and to a high standard.
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you are essential to project success. You'll oversee cost control, reduce risks, and manage contracts, while acting as a key point of contact for clients and contractors. Your expertise will help ensure financial health and operational excellence across all projects.
You'll also mentor junior surveyors, promote teamwork, and help shape the future of the Northwest's transport infrastructure.
What you'll do:
Lead commercial management of highways schemes from inception to completion under the Area 10 contract.
Oversee the end-to-end process using the CEMAR system
Provide accurate estimating, cost forecasting, cash flow management, and CVR reporting.
Ensure compliance with NEC4 contracts, including early warning notices, compensation events, and contract change management.
Manage and mentor junior members of the commercial team.
Conduct valuations, variations, and final account settlements with the client and supply chain partners.
Support procurement activities and subcontract management, including tendering, negotiation, and contract administration.
Monitor project performance to ensure value for money and effective risk management.
Work closely with the schemes operations and project management team.
Build strong working relationships with National Highways representatives, supply chain, and internal stakeholders.
Ensure compliance with Amey's financial procedures, governance, and HSEQ standards.
