Job Overview


We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor to join our construction and infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of cost estimation, cost control, and financial reporting related to building projects. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to large-scale facade projects, ensuring completion within budget and to the highest standards. The ideal applicant will possess strong analytical skills, excellent organisational abilities, and a thorough understanding of construction costs and contractual procedures.

Responsibilities



Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets for construction projects from initial design through to completion. Monitor project costs throughout the construction phase, ensuring adherence to budgets and identifying potential overruns early. Conduct regular cost control assessments and implement corrective measures as necessary. Analyse tenders and negotiate with contractors and suppliers to secure competitive pricing. Prepare financial reports, forecasts, and cash flow analyses for project stakeholders. Assist in contractual negotiations, including reviewing contracts and change orders to manage financial risk. Collaborate closely with project managers, architects, engineers, and clients to ensure clear communication regarding costs and financial implications. Maintain comprehensive records of all financial transactions related to each project for audit purposes.

Qualifications



Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or in a similar role within the construction industry. Strong knowledge of cost control techniques and financial management principles. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Proficiency in industry-standard software. Sound understanding of contractual procedures and legal aspects of construction projects. Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to negotiate confidently. Relevant qualifications such as BSc(Hons) Quantity Surveying or equivalent are highly desirable. Competitive Salary from 50,000 per annum plus package (DoE).
