We are currently looking to recruit a Senior Quantity Surveyor to work alongside a team of experienced Quantity Surveyors and get involved in a range of projects from inception to completion. The successful candidate will be given the opportunity to take ownership on a range of projects within the Railway Infrastructure sector. With multiple projects of various values.
Here at CML, as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within the Commercial team, you will be working on the Reactive & Small Scheme Framework. Within the role you can expect to:
Take commercial responsibility for a portfolio of works
Manage, train and provide support to a dedicated Commercial team, carrying out regular catch ups on their progress
Provide advice to the Commercial team and Project staff, on Commercial and contractual matters, including reviewing and drafting of correspondence
Manage and produce formal reports for inclusion in the quarterly Commercial board report
Monitor contract compliance against statutory requirements
Develop client relationships, achieving a progressive improvement in customer satisfaction
Oversee and monitor contract costs against agreed budgets
Develop and monitor the use of cost and financial reporting systems
Carry out monthly/periodic financial reviews (CVR's) on portfolio/multiple projects and forecast final outturn values for cost, sales and margin
Prepare and submit periodic valuations/application for payments ensuring that Client payment and cash collection is achieved in accordance with the contract
Identify potential commercial/financial risk and opportunity and evaluate options to mitigate/realise.
Oversee the procedures and liaise with the supply chain for the procurement, negotiation and placing of sub contract and supplier orders
Assist with tenders, both in terms of formulating and review
Any other duties as may reasonably be required.
Person Specification:
The successful Quantity Surveyor must:
Have a degree in Quantity Surveying - Essential
Have 3+ years experience working in a Quantity Surveying role - Essential
Have good communication and client facing skills - Essential
Ability to work on own initiative and unsupervised - Essential
Demonstrate ability to lead a team - Essential
Have a willingness to work towards their APC and become Chartered
Rail experience - Desirable
RICS/CES - Desirable
