About the role



Join our Regional Civils team as a

Senior Quantity Surveyor

and play a pivotal role in shaping the commercial success of infrastructure projects. Based on-site in Blackpool, you'll oversee all aspects of a sea defence project, ensuring cost efficiency and value for money while maintaining high standards. What you'll be doing



As a

Senior Quantity Surveyor

within Balfour Beatty, you will:


Lead and mentor junior commercial staff, providing guidance and support. Manage project profitability, budgets, and financial reporting. Develop and implement commercial strategies to ensure project delivery and margins. Maintain accurate cost tracking, forecasts, and cash flow management. Oversee contract change management, valuations, and timely applications for payments. Manage subcontractor selection, contracts, and compliance with company standards. Support project reviews, reports, and insurance claims as required. Ensure compliance with HSE procedures, company policies, and Group Minimum Commercial Expectations.


Who we're looking for



We are looking for a

Senior Quantity Surveyor

with the following:


Substantial senior-level experience in quantity surveying within civil engineering. Chartered or qualified with RICS, ICES, or CIOB. Strong knowledge of construction techniques, contract law, and EEC suite contracts. Experience in tendering, procurement, and subcontract management. Excellent negotiation, communication, and leadership skills.
