We're looking for an experienced steelwork Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our expanding team, based at our office in York.
Our Commercial & Industrial division designs, fabricates and constructs structural steelwork for a variety of different sectors including commercial offices, stadia & leisure, industrial & distribution, data centres, retail and health and education.
The division has manufacturing sites in three locations: Dalton, Lostock, and Enniskillen. Each has full-service capabilities and modern manufacturing processes enabling us to provide a high-quality product to a variety of different sectors. Each of our sites has its own strong reputation in the market and between them cover a wider geographical area, including Europe. They continue to set the

Vacancy Details
The purpose of this role is to support and assist the Commercial Associate Director and the Quantity Surveying department to ensure that the commercial and contractual aspects of complex projects are properly managed and controlled to an efficient manner to meet the demands of the business.
You will be responsible for providing assistance, support & guidance on all commercial aspects throughout projects, including preparing & submitting interim valuations for projects monthly, to ensure positive cash flow throughout.
To be successful in this role you'll need to have good all-round contractual knowledge and awareness, in particular JCT Design & Build subcontract conditions and standard methods of measurement. You'll be managing the financial aspects of a variety of interesting steelwork projects including associated elements of subcontracted works such as metal decking, metalwork, and cladding. Other duties include cost control and value reporting and cash flow forecasting.
You'll need to have experience working in the construction or manufacturing industry, along with experience of controlling projects within the commercial and industrial sectors. Detailed knowledge and experience of the technical elements of the structural steelwork industry is preferred.
