Job Description

As a Real Estate Analyst within the Private Markets Investment team, you will contribute to the development and delivery of London CIV's real estate investment strategy.


Reporting to the Head of Real Estate, you will play a key role in supporting the management, monitoring and growth of our institutional real estate platform. This is an exciting opportunity to help shape a purpose-led platform within a collaborative Private Markets team.



Given the compact nature of the team, flexibility, a proactive approach and strong teamwork are essential. You will support a wide range of activities across investment analysis, risk management, fund and manager monitoring, and client reporting within real estate, and where required, across other private markets asset classes.

What You'll Be Doing

Fund & Portfolio Monitoring




Support the Head of Real Estate and portfolio managers in the ongoing monitoring of funds and portfolios. This includes attending meetings with external managers, drafting investment memos, writing manager updates, and contributing to quarterly reporting for Partner Funds.

Valuations & Investment Reporting




Assist with the quarterly investment valuation process, collaborating closely with internal teams such as Fund Accounting to ensure accuracy and timeliness.

Investment Process & Product Development




Support activities related to product and fund design, investment due diligence, fund modifications and investment transactions.

Investment Committee Materials




Assist in the preparation of investment committee papers, reports and presentation materials.

Client & Partner Fund Engagement




Work with colleagues to deliver high-quality responses to Partner Fund queries and assist with the preparation of presentation materials and pitch books.

Reporting & Data Management




Help develop and maintain dashboards and reports using London CIV's private markets portfolio management tools, ensuring clear, accurate summaries of portfolio performance and risk.

Systems & Process Support




Develop a working knowledge of key systems and processes to support cross-functional working and provide back-up cover where required.

Policy & Process Development




Assist in maintaining and enhancing investment policies, processes and procedures to ensure they remain robust and fit for purpose.

Operational Collaboration




Work alongside Fund Accounting and Operations teams to ensure data accuracy and resolve day-to-day operational queries.

Responsible Investment




Collaborate with the Responsible Investment team to integrate ESG factors into investment analysis and decision making.

Market & Manager Research




Research market trends and investment managers within real estate (and other private markets asset classes where required) to support the development of new investment ideas and strategies.

What You'll Bring

Essential




Relevant degree (Real Estate, Finance, Business, Economics, Mathematics, or related discipline).


Experience within the real estate investment industry.


Strong understanding of real estate investment structures.


Passion for developing a career in real estate and private markets.


Excellent analytical and numerical skills.


Advanced Microsoft Office capabilities (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).


Strong attention to detail and accuracy.


Highly organised with the ability to manage workflows independently.


Effective written and verbal communication skills.


Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach to working across teams.

Desirable




Chartered Surveyor (MRICS) qualification or equivalent.


Experience conducting due diligence on real estate investment managers.


Familiarity with risk management systems and tools.


Experience preparing committee reports and client-facing presentations.


Experience reviewing and negotiating legal agreements.
