Position Summary:
The Senior Marine Industry Recruiter is a strategic talent acquisition professional responsible for driving end-to-end recruitment processes for shipboard Marine positions including specialised hard-to-fill and leadership roles This position plays a critical role in identifying attracting and hiring the best global talent to support marine operations ensuring alignment with company standards and operational excellence The Senior Recruiter provides expertise on global labour markets pipeline optimisation and sourcing strategies while partnering closely with leadership to meet shipboard staffing needs effectively and sustainably
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Strategic Recruitment Leadership:
Own and drive the full-cycle recruitment process for assigned shipboard roles including senior-level technicaland niche positions
Collaborate with hiring managers HRBPs and operational leaders to determine position requirementsensuring clarity on competencies and qualifications
Deliver data-driven insights to leadership advising on global labour market conditions talent pipeline healthand sourcing campaign effectiveness
Develop and execute proactive talent strategies to support current and future operational needs
Talent Sourcing & Identification:
Lead sourcing initiatives using multiple channels including passive candidate strategies Boolean searches professional networks talent mappingand direct outreach
Build and maintain strategic talent pipelines for specialised marine roles and continuously engage with top talent in the industry
Optimise sourcing campaigns for high-volume hiring difficult-to-fill rolesand specialised marine certifications
Candidate Screening & Selection:
Conduct competency-based interviews and in-depth assessments to ensure candidate suitability for shipboard roles
Present a shortlist of highly qualified candidates to hiring leaders emphasising technical competencies leadership potentialand shipboard readiness
Assess cultural alignment and candidate adaptability to the shipboard environment
Make hiring recommendations and when authorisedextend offers for entry-level roles
Stakeholder Collaboration & Management:
Serve as a trusted talent advisor to hiring leaders providing ongoing consultation on talent market trends selection strategiesand recruitment timelines
Facilitate regular calibration meetings with hiring managers to review selection criteria and adjust recruitment strategies as needed
Manage recruitment process milestonesescalating challenges proactively while maintaining hiring momentum
Strategic Recruitment & Process Optimisation:
As a Senior Recruiter mastering complex job requirements is essential to identifying attracting and securing top-tier talent across all areas within Marine including deck and engine officers technical specialists skilled trade professionals and other shipboard roles that require rigorous licensing and certifications such as STCW SOLASand MLC
Operating in a dynamic high-volume recruitment environment the team collectively manages 200-400 hires per monthwith each recruiter responsible for a book of business ranging from 20-60 hires
This role requires not only expertise in full-cycle recruitment but also the ability to provide strategic insights into talent market trends collaborate in the creation and refinement of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)and contribute to the development of processes and reports that measure productivity and effectiveness
Working closely with hiring managers HR and operational leaders the Senior Recruiter ensures seamless crew deployment while continuously improving efficiency and compliance in a fast-paceddeadline-driven setting
Operational Excellence & Compliance:
Ensure all recruitment activities align with international maritime labour regulationsincluding MLC and SQM policies
Maintain thorough documentation of recruitment activitiesadhering to company policies and data protection regulations
Regularly review and refine interview frameworks candidate assessmentsand evaluation tools for continued relevance and effectiveness
Employer Branding & Candidate Experience:
Champion a world-class candidate experienceproviding timely updates and feedback throughout the recruitment process
Serve as an ambassador for the brand articulating the company's values career growth opportunitiesand shipboard culture effectively
Participate in recruitment events trade showsand global hiring initiatives to strengthen the company's visibility and employer brand
Continuous
Improvement & Talent Analytics:
Utilise recruitment data reports and dashboards to monitor hiring metrics process efficiencyand candidate pipeline health
Recommend and implement improvements to recruitment processes technology adoptionand global talent strategies
Conduct recruiter training sessions and workshops to ensure alignment with best practices and talent acquisition excellence

Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources and/or business administration from an accredited college or university or the international equivalent preferred
Minimum 5 years relevant recruitment experiencewithin the marine or cruise industries preferred
Knowledge of Marine positions career progressionthe training certifications and licenses required for each level and per position preferred
Proven ability to conduct competency-based interviewingStrong interviewing skills; ability to understand and further the organisations business objectives and employee performance objectives
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; experience and ability to discuss with and influence leadership teams as well as to collaborate with and influence various clientsstakeholders and related teams
Working knowledge of accepted human resources recruitment practices; ability to acquire knowledge of recruitment processes in various countries
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (ie Excel Word and PowerPoint) Proficiency with ATSCRMs preferred and Smartsheets a plus
