Small Animal Senior Registered Veterinary Nurse - Wantage Practice

We have an exciting vacancy for a Senior Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our friendly team at our new Practice in Wantage. Providing care to our patients and assisting the veterinary team in all aspects of nursing care.

Larkmead is an independent, busy, first-opinion mixed-practice based in South Oxfordshire. This role will be a great opportunity to be part of team opening a new branch of Larkmead Vets in the Wantage area. You will lead the nursing team of 1 other nurse and work closely with the 3 SA Vets and reception team to ensure the smooth running of the day.

The ideal candidate should be experienced in a variety of tasks including all aspects of nursing care, anaesthesia and nurse consultations.

You will be highly motivated, hardworking, kind, and compassionate. You should have strong leadership skills and be able to work well as part of a team and individually and keen to provide a great service to all our patients and clients.

The role is full time, 40 hours per week (including some weekends on a rota basis with time off in lieu).

A full driving licence is essential to work across all our practices as needed.

Main Responsibilities:

To provide care and treatment for all patients under clinical supervision

Assisting experienced vets in surgery

To oversee and maintain high standards of cleanliness in the practice

Assisting vets with the medical care of in-patients to a high standard

To provide support and training to our student nurses

Opportunity to engage with nurse clinics and puppy parties for our clients.
