About the role:

You will work in a small Children\xe2\x80\x99s Home in a rural community within South Powys. The home supports several children/young people with complex emotional and behavioural difficulties due to their early life experience (Age 11-18). You will lead the shift to create a safe, healthy, learning, fulfilled home where children have their voices heard and acted upon to achieve positive outcomes in their lives.

  • You will have a QCF/ NVQ Diploma Level 3 in Health and Social Care Children & Young People Wales and Northern Ireland (including predecessor qualifications as stipulated by Social Care Wales) and be looking to progress in Children\xe2\x80\x99s Residential Care.
What you will do:
  • Senior Residential Care Workers will be required to lead on a shift basis, including sleep in duties.
  • You will build positive relationships through nurture, teaching connection before correction with a patient and calm manner and promote healthy, safe routine by creating a warm, inclusive home.
  • You will be a creative facilitator of opportunity at home and within the community. Leading the team to organise and promote activities for children and young people to learn new things and explore interests, hobbies, and life skills.
  • Work in partnership with families and carers of young people in achieving the aims and objectives of the young people\xe2\x80\x99s plans.
  • You and the colleagues that you support will follow agreed policies, procedures, and legislative standards in your work. Always striving to keep up to date with best practice.
