Role:
Lead Senior Residential Support Worker - Children's Home (EBD)
Salary:
16 per hour as Lead Senior, leading to 17.50 per hour as a Deputy
Working pattern:
Dynamic - 2 days of 9-5pm + 2 or 3 shorter shifts per week. Structure can be discussed and agreed at the interview.
Requirements of this job:
Essential
Level 3 or 4 Residential Childcare qualification or working towards with considerable progress
Full UK manual driving license
A minimum of 3 years experience working within Children's residential care
Ability to show leadership skills
Ability to engage effectively with children and young people
Experience of managing budgets
Have a genuine interest in working with vulnerable looked after children and young people
Be willing to partake in any training as instructed by the home
Desirable
Previous experience working as a Senior Childcare Practitioner Residential Childcare Setting
Extensive knowledge of the Children's Homes Regulations 2015 including the Quality Standards
Level 5 in Leadership and Management of Residential Childcare
Your key responsibilities as a Senior Residential Support Worker:
To be a shift leader as part of the rota, where required
To operate as an acting Deputy Manager to support the Home Manager, where required
Provide leadership and direction to the support team, ensuring high quality of care
Collaboratively work with the management team to ensure to implement care plans
Contribute towards co-ordinating services and assisting the Home Manager in the management of the home in all aspects appropriate to the Statement of purpose of the Home.
To act as a key worker to a child and be a positive role model for children and other staff in a range of contexts
