Looking for a current Deputy Manager (children's residential), or an experienced Senior RSW (children's residential) ready to step up to a Deputy Manager.

- Level 3/4/5 in Residential Childcare (not in Health and Social Care)


- Relevant experience (minimum 3 years) working in a children's residential home (Not supported living or adults)



About Us



Gemstones Care is a 3 bed Children's Home (EBD) in Birmingham specialising in providing trauma-informed care to children with emotional or behavioural difficulties.

We are professional and supportive in our approach and value staff welfare and quality of care for children in our care.

Salary (based on hourly rates):

39,000 to 42,100 (including sleeps)

Working pattern:

Dynamic/Mixed - 2 days of 9-5pm + 2 shorter shifts (including sleep-in) per week. Structure can be discussed at interview stage.

The Role



We're looking for a passionate and driven Deputy Manager, for whom a great opportunity towards becoming a Home Manager will be available. The home is of very high quality and specification. Key Experience and Qualifications required:



At least 3 years of experience working with children and young people in the last 5 years with at least 1 year in a supervision and management role of staff working in a care role. Excellent organisational, interpersonal and multitasking skills Effective supervision and leadership skills A full UK Driving Licence Level 3/4 in Residential Childcare Working or willing to work towards Level 5 in Leadership and Management of Residential Childcare

Desirable:



Level 5 in Leadership and Management of Residential Childcare

Key Responsibilities include:



Support the Registered Manager the daily running of the children's home. Ensure care is provided to the highest standards at all times Manage the care staff to help them deliver the best care Develop positive relationships with staff and children Assess the training and development needs of the staff Lead the home through all Ofsted inspections Implement best practice within the home
