Main Responsibilities
Leadership & Management
:
Formulate and implement the company's aims and objectives.
Promote and enforce policies and procedures to meet these goals.
Manage staff and resources effectively, monitoring progress towards the home's objectives.
Deputise in the absence of the Deputy Manager when required, ensuring continuity of care and management.
Fulfill all professional responsibilities, including participation in professional development and company events.
Undertake other duties reasonably delegated by managers.
Supervise Residential Childcare workers and support their professional development.
Team Leadership
:
Role model and direct colleagues to provide a safe, stimulating, and caring environment for children and young people.
Ensure that interactions with residents are well-planned, impactful, and engaging.
Contribute to the day-to-day running of the home, ensuring compliance with all regulations and best practices.
Manage service delivery, assess and manage risks, and deploy staff and resources effectively.
Share caseload responsibilities and lead care planning, working towards achieving outcomes outlined in relevant documents.
Maintain up-to-date chronologies of work and ensure timely planning and consent for activities.
Safeguarding & Advocacy
:
Demonstrate strong safeguarding knowledge and experience in advocating for children and young people.
Work confidently with stakeholders to act in the best interests of each child or young person.
Training & Development
:
Mentor colleagues regularly and assist with the induction of new staff.
Role model and direct best practices, supporting the development of staff and the home.
Complete all required training within specified timeframes and maintain up-to-date training records.
Participate in supervisions and other professional duties, including activities outside normal working hours if required.
Administrative Duties
:
Assist the Home Manager with administrative tasks such as submitting accounts, ordering supplies, maintaining records, and compiling reports.
Follow payroll and personnel administration processes according to guidelines.
Report any maintenance issues and ensure the cleanliness and security of the home.
Health & Safety
:
Assist the Home Manager in ensuring the safety of residents, including organizing regular fire drills.
Maintain high standards of hygiene and health, arranging medical and dental examinations as needed.
Operate within Health and Safety guidelines and best practices, including food handling and emergency procedures.
Confidentiality
:
Respect and maintain confidentiality in line with the Data Protection Act 2018.
Handle data fairly and lawfully, and use or disclose information only as authorized.
