Lead Practitioner

in our Children's Residential Services, you'll be part of a close-knit team that gives young people the care, support and stability they need to move forward with confidence.


It's a big role, no doubt about it. You'll help shape daily life in the house, keep things calm when they get tricky, and guide the team to be the best they can be. Most importantly, you'll be there for the children and young people who live with us, helping them feel safe, heard and valued for who they are.

What you'll be doing

Acting as a key mentor for children and young people, making sure their care plans reflect who they are and what they need Leading by example and supporting your team to build genuine, trusting relationships Taking the lead on keyworker responsibilities, reports and reviews. The detail really matters here Encouraging positive behaviour, emotional wellbeing and a sense of belonging Keeping things on track behind the scenes, from rotas and planning to training and quality assurance

What you'll bring

A calm, compassionate approach and a good sense of what young people need to thrive Experience in a care, education or support setting, ideally with children or young people Confidence with care plans, assessments and safeguarding responsibilities SSSC registration (or eligibility to register) plus HNC Social Care and SVQ Level 3 A full UK manual driving licence

If you've completed DDP Level 1 training, brilliant. If not, we'll support you to get there.

As we do our work in Christ's name the job you have applied for requires you to have a Christian faith and be able to work within and uphold our Christian Ethos. This is an Occupational Requirement under Part 1 of Schedule 9 to the Equality Act 2010.


This post requires you to be a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme and undertake the necessary vetting checks. You will also be required to be registered with SSSC and it is your professional responsibility to ensure that you meet the standards and criteria for registration.
