We're looking for a Senior Residential Support Worker to join our dedicated team providing high-quality care and support to young people aged 10-17 years. You'll help create a safe, nurturing and homely environment where every child feels valued, respected and encouraged to reach their potential.
You'll take a lead role in day-to-day care, mentoring junior staff and ensuring that each young person's care plan is implemented effectively promoting their wellbeing, independence and development.
Key Responsibilities
Provide consistent, child-centred care that meets the emotional, social and physical needs of young people.
Lead and support a team of Residential Support Workers during shifts.
Act as a keyworker for young people, contributing to and monitoring care plans and risk assessments.
Maintain a warm, safe and homely environment that promotes positive relationships and daily routines.
Support with household duties including cooking, shopping, and organising activities.
Promote and maintain effective communication with families, social workers, and external professionals.
Use de-escalation and behaviour management techniques in line with company policy.
Lead by example in promoting safeguarding, equality, and diversity.
Participate in on-call rota, training, supervision, and team meetings.
Support education, recreation, and life skills development to help young people achieve their goals.
About You
We're looking for someone who is passionate about making a difference in young people's lives and can demonstrate:
Previous experience in a residential childcare setting (essential).
A relevant Level 3 or 4 Diploma in Residential Childcare or working towards (essential).
Strong leadership and communication skills.
The ability to stay calm under pressure and manage challenging situations effectively.
Empathy, resilience, flexibility, and a commitment to safeguarding.
A full UK driving licence (preferred).
