We are looking for an experienced and compassionate Senior Residential Support Worker to join our dedicated team in our Ofsted-registered Children's Home. You will play a key role in supporting children and young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties, complex needs, or trauma backgrounds. As a Senior, you will lead by example, supporting and mentoring the care team to deliver high standards of care, safety, and wellbeing in line with Ofsted regulations and company policies.
Key Responsibilities
Supporting Children and Young People
Provide a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment for children and young people in your care.
Build positive and trusting relationships to promote each young person's emotional wellbeing and personal development.
Support young people to develop essential life skills, independence, and social confidence.
Ensure that all care plans, risk assessments, and behaviour management strategies are followed and regularly updated.
Actively safeguard and promote the welfare of all children and young people, following safeguarding and child protection procedures.
Support young people in education, health, and recreational activities, encouraging participation and achievement.
Accurately record all observations, incidents, and daily logs in line with company policy and regulatory requirements.
Team Leadership and Support
Support and mentor Residential Support Workers, leading by example and promoting a positive team culture.
Take responsibility for leading shifts, ensuring effective communication, delegation, and decision-making.
Conduct thorough handovers and debriefs to ensure continuity of care.
Assist in the induction, supervision, and ongoing development of staff, providing guidance and support as needed.
Promote good practice and ensure all staff are working in line with company policies, procedures, and Ofsted standards.
Report any concerns, incidents, or safeguarding matters promptly to management.
Household and Administrative Duties
Help maintain a safe, clean, and homely environment within the home.
Manage petty cash and financial records accurately when required.
Support the planning and delivery of activities, appointments, and daily routines.
Contribute to audits, inspections, and reviews as required by management.
Participate in on-call, sleep-in, and shift duties as part of the home's rota system.
Person Specification
Experience
Previous experience working with children and young people in a residential care setting.
Experience supporting individuals with emotional, behavioural, or complex needs.
Experience leading a shift or supervising others in a care environment (desirable).
Knowledge of Ofsted regulations and safeguarding procedures.

Qualifications / Training
Level 3 Diploma for Children and Young People's Workforce (Residential Pathway) or equivalent - Essential* Level 4 Diploma in Residential Childcare or willingness to work towards - Desirable* Safeguarding, First Aid, and Medication Training - Desirable(training can be provided)
Other Requirements
Full UK Driving Licence - Essential* Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins.
Commitment to ongoing training and professional development.

Pay: 13.15 per hour
