About Us
We're a specialist 3-bed children's residential home supporting young people aged 5-17 with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD). These children are in the care system, often having experienced trauma, neglect, or instability.
We provide a safe, stable, and nurturing home that helps children heal, grow, and thrive. As a Senior Residential Support Worker, you will be part of a passionate, close-knit team making a meaningful difference--every single day.
The Role
As a
Senior Support Worker
, you'll be a role model for both young people and staff. You'll take the lead on shifts, support with care planning, guide less experienced colleagues, and play a key role in providing consistency, structure, and emotional safety for the young people in our care.
What You'll Be Doing
?
Lead Shifts
- Manage daily routines, delegate tasks, and ensure the smooth running of the home
?
Provide Emotional Support
- Build strong, therapeutic relationships with young people, using trauma-informed approaches
?
Safeguarding First
- Always promote and protect the safety and welfare of the children
?
Be Hands-On
- Support with school runs, appointments, household tasks, and community activities
?
Report Writing & Key Working
- Maintain clear, accurate records and take the lead on care plans where appropriate
?
Support Behaviour Management
- Confidently de-escalate challenging behaviour and promote positive routines
?
Mentor & Guide
- Support junior staff through coaching, supervision, and leading by example
?
Work Collaboratively
- Communicate effectively with external professionals, families, and the management team
What We're Looking For
?
Experience in a residential children's home
(ideally with EBD or similar complex needs)
?
Confident leading a team
and acting as a senior on shift
?
Resilience and emotional intelligence
- you'll need to remain calm and supportive during crisis moments
?
Level 3 Diploma
in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) - or actively working toward it
?
Full UK Driving Licence
- essential for transporting young people
? Strong understanding of safeguarding, risk management, and trauma-informed care
