experienced Security Engineer
to join our transformative Information Technology & Digital Services Department.

ABOUT THE ROLE:
You will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and maintaining security controls across our hybrid infrastructure. Working closely with IT Solution Delivery, IT Operations and business stakeholders, you will ensure our systems are resilient against threats, compliant with regulations, and aligned with best practices.
RESPONSIBILITIES
:
Security Operations & Monitoring
Lead threat detection, incident response, and vulnerability management activities.
Manage and optimise Microsoft 365 E5 security features (Defender XDR, Purview, Sentinel, etc).
Monitor and respond to alerts from SIEM, EDR and other security platforms.
Architecture & Engineering
Design and implement secure configurations for Azure and Oracle ICI environments.
Support secure deployment practices for Adobe Commerce and other web-facing services.
Collaborate on network segmentation, firewall policies, and identify management.
Governance, Risk & Compliance
Work alongside the GRC analysts to maintain security policies, standards, and procedures aligned with ISO 27001.
Ensure compliance with GDPR and other relevant data protection regulations.
Project & Stakeholder Engagement
Act as a security SME in IT and business projects.
Provide guidance and training to IT users and developers on secure practices.
Liaise with vendors and partners to assess and improve third-party security.
SLILLS & EXPERIENCE
Essential:
Proven experience in a senior security engineering role within hybrid environments.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 E5 security stack.
Hands on experience with Azure and/or Oracle OCI security controls.
Familiarity with Adobe Commerce or similar eCommerce platforms.
Proficiency in SIEM, EDR, and vulnerability management tools.
Understanding of network security and identify & access management.
Desirable:
Certifications such as CISSP, AZ-500, SC-200 or equivalent.
Experience with automation/scripting.
Experience with securing OT environments.
Exposure to SecDevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.

Analytical mindset with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Strong communication skills and ability to influence stakeholders.
Passion for continuous learning and staying ahead of emerging threats.
