Opus has strategically aligned with a rapidly growing SaaS scale-up that recently secured substantial investment and has been identified as a key player to watch by Gartner in 2023. This forward-thinking business is dedicated to enhancing global relationships between Managed Service Providers (MSP) and vendors.

Following an inspiring meeting this week where we delved into their vision for 2024, the company is now gearing up to establish a robust Cyber Security function. In this pursuit, they are actively seeking a dynamic Senior Cloud Security Consultant to spearhead efforts in fortifying their infrastructure against potential threats. This role will encompass ensuring robust performance, overseeing security monitoring, and contributing to the advancement of their top-tier vendor management platform.

Your daily responsibilities will include:

  • Advocating for Infrastructure Security Design
  • Collaborating within a cross-functional, agile team to lead security system design and deployment
  • Crafting solutions across diverse domains such as monitoring, performance, and deployment tooling
  • Introducing cutting-edge technologies and methodologies, advocating for their integration when beneficial
  • Participating in engineering dialogues to identify infrastructure needs addressing complex business scenarios
  • Developing and maintaining all essential infrastructure and operational documentation
  • Remaining vigilant about potential security threats, overseeing penetration testing
  • Championing cost-saving measures through service optimizations
  • Enhancing monitoring and application performance metrics
  • Overseeing the Infosec qualification process in accordance with client and prospective customer requirements
To thrive in this role, you should bring the following skills and experience to the table:
  • A minimum of 5 years\xe2\x80\x99 hands-on experience in a Cloud Security role, focusing on security best practices, threat detection, and mitigation strategies
  • Deep understanding of AWS platform architecture, specifically tailored for SaaS solutions, ensuring optimal security postures.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Linux system administration, with a keen emphasis on cutting-edge server security protocols and practices
  • Proficiency in deploying and managing security systems, with a particular emphasis on Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) and Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS)
  • Proven track record of ensuring data confidentiality, integrity, and availability throughout its lifecycle - during transmission, storage, and processing
  • Skills in leveraging application monitoring tools like AWS monitoring/alerts, Cloudwatch, Prometheus, and Grafana to detect and respond to security incidents.
  • Familiarity with databases and search engines such as ElasticSearch, Postgresql, and Redis, with an emphasis on securing them
  • Knowledge of security compliance standards relevant to the SaaS industry, such as GDPR, ISO 27001, and SOC2
  • A proactive approach to staying updated with the latest security threats, vulnerabilities, and mitigation techniques.
  • An AWS Certified DevOps Engineer or AWS Certified Security accreditation would be highly regarded.
