Which is why we are excited to announce a new opportunity for a Senior Security Specialist join our Security and Resilience Team (with travel across sites as required)
EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW
We're looking for a Senior Security Specialist to define and deliver our strategic approach to physical and personnel security. You'll ensure we meet all regulatory and statutory obligations, manage emerging threats, and drive a culture of security excellence across the business.
What You'll Be Doing
Strategic Leadership

• Develop and implement protective security strategies, standards, and governance
• Lead security capital investment projects and business planning
• Oversee compliance with national infrastructure security regulations

Operational Excellence

• Conduct site assessments, audits, and risk evaluations
• Provide technical and non-technical security advice
• Lead on criminal and security investigations, ensuring legal and data privacy compliance

Stakeholder Engagement

• Liaise with appropriate government departments, regulators and law enforcement
• Represent Severn Trent in national security initiatives
• Deliver clear, actionable insights on security trends and threats

Cultural Change & Assurance

• Promote a proactive security culture across the organisation
• Manage enterprise-level security risks and assurance programmes
• Support business continuity, resilience, and incident response

WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO THE ROLE
We're seeking a seasoned security professional with a deep understanding of physical and personnel security, including physical and electronic mitigation measures. You'll need to be confident in navigating complex threats, technologies, and regulatory landscapes, with a proven ability to influence and embed cultural change across a large organisation.
You should have experience in strategic planning, project delivery, and conducting investigations, as well as the ability to communicate effectively at all levels. Strong stakeholder management skills and a collaborative mindset are essential, as is the ability to simplify complex data and present it clearly.
To succeed in this role, you'll need:

• Valid SC clearance
• Recognised security certifications / qualifications
• A full UK driving licence
