We're looking for a results-driven Senior SEO & Content Executive to play a key role in delivering our organic growth strategy. You'll work closely with our SEO agency and Marketing Manager to develop and implement SEO and content strategies across our portfolio of B2C ecommerce websites and B2B trade site. This role offers the opportunity to help shape on-site content, drive measurable performance, and champion best-in-class organic marketing practices within a collaborative team environment.
Key Responsibilities
SEO Strategy & Execution
Plan and implement a comprehensive SEO strategy aligned with overall business goals.
Conduct in-depth
keyword research
to uncover high-value, relevant search terms. Identify and prioritise opportunities that align with commercial goals, and implement targeted strategies to improve SERP rankings, increase traffic, and drive sales.
Optimise content, metadata, and site structure using on-page
SEO best practices.
Continuously measure, test, and enhance organic CTRs and conversion rates through well-crafted meta titles, descriptions, schema markup, and the implementation of rich snippets.
Ensure the technical health of all websites by identifying and resolving issues related to crawling, indexing, page speed, and mobile performance (
technical SEO
).
Lead the development and optimisation of an
internal linking strategy
that enhances user experience and search visibility.
Monitor and report on SEO performance using tools such as Google Analytics, Google Search Console, SEMrush, Screaming Frog, and Ahrefs. Stay up to date with and adopt emerging tools and platforms--including AI-driven solutions--that can enhance SEO effectiveness and improve workflow efficiency.
Perform regular
competitor analysis
to identify market gaps and strategic opportunities.
Collaborate with internal teams and external agencies to execute ethical, white-hat
link building
campaigns that grow domain authority.
Stay current with
search algorithm updates
, emerging trends, and industry developments, proactively adapting the strategy where needed.
Develop and maintain
SEO performance dashboards
for key websites, incorporating a relevant suite of KPIs.
Deliver
structured internal reporting
on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis, including clear insights and actionable recommendations for optimisation and growth.
Content Strategy & Creation
Develop and execute a data-led
content strategy
to drive organic traffic, increase engagement, and support conversion goals.
Write, edit, and optimise high-quality content across multiple channels, including product category pages, blog posts, buyer's guides, and outreach articles.
Ensure all content adheres to SEO best practices, with attention to keyword usage, readability, formatting, and tone of voice.
Work closely with design and marketing teams to ensure consistent
content distribution
across email, social media, and PR campaigns.
Use analytics and performance data to
review, test, and refine
the editorial calendar and future content plans.
Maintain quality and alignment with brand messaging and visual identity across all customer-facing content.
Maintain knowledge and adoption of latest best practises regarding E.E.A.T.
Collaboration & Reporting
Work alongside the Marketing Manager and SEO agency to align SEO and content goals with broader campaign activity.
Mentor and support junior marketing team members, sharing knowledge and promoting SEO best practices across departments.
Present performance metrics and strategic recommendations to senior stakeholders in a clear and concise format.
Manage and deliver projects from initial brief through to implementation, ensuring timelines and objectives are met.
Act as an internal SEO advocate, promoting cross-functional collaboration to maximise organic performance.
Skills & Experience Required
Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role within a fast-paced B2C ecommerce environment or digital agency.
Proven track record of delivering measurable SEO improvements across content, technical, and link building areas.
Strong understanding of search engine algorithms, ranking factors, and white-hat optimisation strategies.
Experience using tools such as Google Analytics, Search Console, Screaming Frog, Ahrefs, SEMrush, and Hotjar.
Confident using CMS platforms such as WordPress and familiar with basic HTML and metadata editing.
Skilled in writing and editing content for SEO and customer engagement.
Ability to analyse data, draw insights, and turn those insights into action.
Excellent organisation skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines.
Proactive, collaborative, and confident communicating across all levels of the business.
A bachelor's degree in marketing or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Desirable:
Familiarity with CRM systems, Adobe Creative Suite, and social media platforms.
Experience of paid search and understanding how it complements SEO.
Background in large-scale consumer database marketing (100,000+).
Experience working with or managing external digital marketing agencies.
CRO knowledge and experience, including A/B testing.
Wider knowledge and experience of the full ecommerce digital marketing mix and sales funnel.
