We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior SharePoint Administrator (Grade 10) to join the Technology Team on a permanent basis.



Team Overview:



The Technology Operations Department is responsible for Elexon's IT Operations, including the EMRS and MHHS programmes, Cloud Operations, and Platform Services. Our platform services encompass governance, monitoring, and identity management, ensuring robust, scalable, and high-performing environments across Elexon.




Job Purpose:





The Senior SharePoint Administrator will be responsible for leading the configuration and ongoing management of Elexon's SharePoint Online environment following its migration. This role will focus on establishing and maintaining governance frameworks, metadata strategies, security controls, and the overall site and library architecture to ensure a scalable and secure platform.


Working closely with internal teams, the postholder will assess collaboration requirements and translate them into structured, user-friendly SharePoint solutions that support business needs, promoting effective use and adoption of the platform across the organisation.


The role requires advanced technical expertise in SharePoint Online, alongside strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, to promote effective use and adoption of the platform across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities:



+ Implement proper governance, security, and permissions structures across all SharePoint sites. + Design and implement Microsoft 365 solutions across SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, Exchange, Entra ID, and Microsoft Purview (DLP, Information Protection, Insider Risk, eDiscovery, Data Lifecycle Management) + Lead on the design of metadata and content organisation strategies + Manage site permissions and security aligned with Elexon's data standards + Collaborate with stakeholders, business analysts, and project managers to deliver SharePoint solutions. + Provide user training, technical documentation, and support to ensure adoption and usability.

Capabilities and competencies:



Critical:





+ Advanced Technical expertise in SharePoint . Proven experience in administering, configuring, and optimising SharePoint Online environments, including site architecture, permissions, and governance. + Microsoft 365 Integration: Skilled in implementing and managing solutions across OneDrive, Teams, Exchange, Entra ID, and Microsoft Purview (DLP, Information Protection, Insider Risk, eDiscovery, Data Lifecycle Management). + Metadata & Content Strategy: Ability to design and implement metadata frameworks and content organisation strategies that support discoverability, compliance, and collaboration. + Security & Compliance Management: Strong understanding of Microsoft 365 security controls, permission models, and compliance tools, including records management and data lifecycle policies. + Automation & Scripting: Proficient in PowerShell for administrative automation and configuration tasks. + Power Platform Utilisation: Experience using Power Automate, Power Apps, and Power BI to enhance workflows, reporting, and user engagement.
