The Team



Our dynamic Product Management Team leads the successful delivery of a wide range of initiatives, from innovative product enhancements to transformative change and cloud migration. Current projects include SITS Adopt to Reimagined, a next-gen student information system spanning the full student lifecycle; Semestry V9, Tribal's upgraded smart scheduling solution for timetables, exams, and room bookings; and Tribal Admissions, an innovative cloud-based platform reshaping university admission.



As a driving force behind software delivery, the Senior Software Project Manager will lead in orchestrating the roadmap for these projects, ensuring the project lands on time, within budget, and meets the highest quality standards. This role is hands-on with change management, keeping stakeholders aligned through clear reporting and control mechanisms, and maintaining relationships across teams to keep progress flowing smoothly.



Beyond the strategic execution, you'll also be a mentor, empowering less experienced colleagues by sharing expertise in project management methodologies and encouraging growth across the team.



This is a remote role with the requirement to travel when required.



Your responsibilities will include:



Drive product quality and reliability by leading testing efforts and setting quality standards through robust project planning and road mapping.

To be responsible for planning, monitoring, and escalation of the development activity for the relevant product/project.

Oversee the software development lifecycle from initiation to deployment, ensuring the most suitable methodologies are adhered to.

Take on responsibility for the liaison between the technical teams, project team, stakeholders, and customers.

Provide regular updates on progress, risks, and changes to ensure transparency, as well as reporting to show software delivery project status.

Manage project budgets, ensuring the best and most cost-effective use of resources.

Forecast and track financials, adjusting plans when needed to stay within budget.

To manage and monitor project resources and liaise with relevant team managers to secure resources for delivery.

Safeguard product quality by defining testing standards and supervising validation efforts, while also ensuring a smooth deployment.

Taking complex technical integrations or cross-functional initiatives and developing product knowledge to support those activities.

Mentor junior members of the team to promote collaborative and knowledgeable team.



The skills you'll need:



Prior experience of managing complex technical projects such as cloud migration.

Proficiency in project management methodologies (Prince 2, Agile, Scrum)

Solid understanding of software development lifecycles.

Technical software product knowledge, being able to talk to the people building our solutions is key

Strong budget/forecast management skills.



It would be great if you had:



Coding or scripting knowledge.

Experience within Higher Education / Further Education or similar markets

Experience of having worked with Tribal products or similar product within the sector.
