Responsibilities
Assist the Head Chef in managing daily kitchen operations, ensuring smooth workflow and efficiency
Supervise and motivate kitchen staff, fostering a positive and productive working environment
Oversee food production processes, maintaining high standards of quality, consistency, and presentation
Prepare and cook a variety of dishes, adhering to established recipes and culinary standards
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene practices at all times
Manage inventory levels, assist with stock ordering, and minimise waste
Support training programmes for junior staff members to develop their culinary skills
Collaborate with front-of-house teams to ensure seamless service delivery
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area in accordance with health and safety standards
Requirements
Proven supervising experience within a busy kitchen environment
Strong background in food preparation, cooking, and food production techniques
Demonstrable leadership skills with the ability to manage a team effectively
Extensive kitchen experience in a hospitality or restaurant setting
Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in hygiene management
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work under pressure during busy service times
