Duties
Assist the Head Chef in managing daily kitchen operations, ensuring smooth workflow and adherence to organisational standards
Supervise and motivate kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative and efficient team environment
Oversee food preparation and cooking processes to maintain high-quality standards and presentation
Ensure all food safety regulations are strictly followed, including proper handling, storage, and sanitation procedures
Manage inventory levels, order supplies as needed, and minimise waste
Support the training and development of junior kitchen staff and trainees
Assist in menu planning and development, incorporating seasonal ingredients and innovative dishes
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area at all times
Serve as a key point of contact during service periods to ensure customer satisfaction
Experience
Proven supervising experience within a professional kitchen environment
Extensive background in food production, cooking, and food preparation
Strong team management skills with the ability to lead by example
Previous experience working in hospitality or restaurant settings is highly desirable
Knowledge of food safety standards and regulations is essential
Experience in culinary arts or hospitality training programmes is advantageous
Familiarity with serving processes within a busy restaurant environment is beneficial
