Duties
Assist the Head Chef in planning and preparing diverse menus that meet quality standards and customer expectations
Supervise and motivate kitchen staff, including cooks and junior chefs, fostering a collaborative team environment
Oversee food production processes to ensure consistency, presentation, and adherence to recipes and portion sizes
Manage food safety protocols and maintain cleanliness in compliance with health regulations
Coordinate daily kitchen operations, including inventory management, stock rotation, and procurement support
Support training programmes for new staff members and ongoing development of existing team members
Contribute to menu development by suggesting innovative dishes and seasonal specials
Ensure efficient utilisation of resources to minimise waste while maintaining high standards of service
Serve as a role model in professionalism, hygiene, and hospitality standards during service periods
Qualifications
Proven supervising experience within a busy restaurant or hospitality environment
Extensive background in food production, cooking, and food preparation techniques
Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a diverse team effectively
Solid understanding of food safety regulations and best practices in kitchen hygiene
Previous experience working in restaurant settings with a focus on culinary excellence
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks under pressure
Good communication skills to liaise effectively with front-of-house staff and suppliers
