Full time position to start October. PESSPA Ltd has an outstanding reputation as a sports coaching provider to schools within North Somerset. Through established relationships, we meet the needs of individual schools and Multi Academy Trusts in the delivery of PE, School Sport and Physical Activity.

PESSPA are now looking for a senor sports coach to lead on delivery of coaching/teaching in our network of primary schools. The individual will be responsible for working with our existing schools and also have the opportunity to identify new partnerships and revenue streams. The role will be split across delivery and management, with flexible working available. Successful applicant can expect to coach 80-90% of the working week.

We will consider offering a minimum 30 hours, whilst also considering up to 37.5 hours, to suit the needs of the successful person. This is a term time only contract, with opportunities for overtime within the school holidays.

The successful person can expect to be self employed, earning between 500-700 per week depending on hours. The senior sports coach will be incentivised by a bonus based commission that will be paid at 20% for any new business that the successful partner brings to the business.

They will be responsible for delivering high quality PE and CPD to schools and maintaining existing relationships with current schools. There will also be opportunity to grow the business both within and outside of North Somerset.

Working hours- 30-38 hours a week

Salary: Self employed, 500-700 per school week, plus performance related bonuses and commission for full time person.

Main Duties

-Teach Physical Education, Extra Curricular Clubs and Physical Activity to primary school children.

- Grow the business by meeting partners, and other stakeholders. Bring in extra revenue through school delivery and holiday clubs. (Not required for part time role)

- To ensure planning, preparation and organisation of lessons and activities are well managed and in line with school requirements to you and your team.

- Manage school delivery timetable.

- Keep up to date with government initiatives relating to teaching of Physical Education & Sport and prepare policies and departmental targets as required.

-Manage cover requirements of the project, scheduling cover coaches with schools and coordinating sickness, holiday and commitments of existing delivery staff, if full time. Where necessary.

- Report weekly to the Director to update on progress and key school achievements.

-To lead on delivery of CPD across PESSPA and its network.

-To be responsible for herself/himself and others in accordance with the Health & Safety at Work etc Act 1974

-Any other duties deemed responsible by the Director.

Essential

-A degree in a Sports/Business related subject or QTS.

-Minimum Level 2 NGB coach (or equivalent)

-Minimum 4 years experience and understanding of the PE National Curriculum and working with children at Key Stage 1 and 2.

- Be confident and competent with delivering PE lessons to large groups of children, both in the form of lesson delivery and CPD for school staff.

-Knowledge and Understanding of planning Safeguarding, Health and Safety in Sport and Child protection in Sport.

- Experience of working in a customer facing service.

Desirable

-NGB Level 3 Coaching Qualification or Qualified Teacher status.

- Good public speaking skills & presentation skills

- Experience of managing a team

- A good insight into Sporting/Health related issues.
