Job summary

Join Ofgem at the centre of the UK's energy transformation as a Delivery Unit Senior Advisor. This is a rare opportunity to lead high-impact work that directly supports Ofgem's mission to protect consumers and deliver the transition to Net Zero.

The Delivery Unit sits at the heart of Ofgem within the GEMA (Board) and Executive Directorate. Established in 2024, it has quickly become a trusted in-house consultancy, leading urgent, high-profile projects that require rapid, strategic responses. As a Senior Advisor, you will own and drive critical commissions that sit at the core of Ofgem's priorities, working across policy, regulatory and corporate functions.

You will lead the delivery of strategic analysis and policy advice on emerging issues, producing high-quality briefings, recommendations and options for senior leaders. You will work across directorates to build consensus, shape solutions and ensure that strategy is translated into delivery. Your work will often involve scoping new areas of focus, engaging with stakeholders and ensuring a smooth transition once Delivery Unit work concludes.

You will play a key role in shaping Ofgem's response to complex and fast-moving challenges, helping to ensure that decisions are grounded in evidence and aligned with strategic goals. This may include working on cross-cutting issues such as energy affordability, market reform, or the regulation of emerging technologies.

We are looking for someone with strong strategic thinking, excellent communication skills and the ability to work at pace across multiple projects. Experience in policy or regulatory environments is highly desirable, as is a good understanding of the energy sector. You will bring a proven ability to synthesise complex information, identify key issues and deliver clear, actionable recommendations.

You will also have the opportunity to contribute to the development of the Delivery Unit's ways of working, helping to refine how we scope, deliver and hand over projects. This includes supporting knowledge sharing and continuous improvement across the team.

You will also support and mentor junior colleagues, helping to build a collaborative, high-performing team culture. At Ofgem, we are committed to inclusion and diversity and we value the unique perspectives that each team member brings.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone ready to take on a new challenge, gain exposure to senior decision-making and make a tangible impact on the UK's energy future.
