Tamar Support Services Limited is seeking a dynamic and experienced Ofsted Registered Manager to lead and manage our Ofsted-regulated services across four homes in Kent specifically in Canterbury and surrounding areas. Our mission is to provide exceptional care and support for young people (ages 16-17) in semi-independent accommodation, ensuring they thrive in a safe, supportive, and structured environment.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement care plans for residents in collaboration with the nursing team
- Provide leadership and guidance to staff members to ensure efficient and effective delivery of care
- Oversee medication administration and ensure adherence to prescribed protocols
- Manage all aspects of the care home, including staffing, budgeting, and resident admissions
- Specialise in home care, dementia care, assisted living, and nursing home management
Skills
- - Leadership & Management: Oversee day-to-day operations across four homes, ensuring compliance with Ofsted regulations and delivering high-quality care and support services.
- Safeguarding & Compliance: Act as the Designated Safeguarding Lead, ensuring all safeguarding concerns are promptly addressed and reported. Ensure homes meet all relevant legislative, health, and safety standards.
- Support & Development: Implement programs to help young people develop independence skills, manage complex behaviours, and integrate into the local community.
- Stakeholder Liaison: Collaborate with local authorities, professional partners, internal stakeholders, and external agencies to ensure comprehensive support for young people.
- Risk Management: Conduct and update risk assessments, manage referrals, and oversee the admission process in line with organisational policies.
- Staff Development: Recruit, train, and supervise staff, ensuring ongoing professional development through regular supervision and annual appraisals.
- Budget Management: Assist with budget preparation and manage financial parameters to ensure the homes operate within budget.
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
- NVQ Level 5 Management (or equivalent)
- Comprehensive knowledge of Ofsted regulations and Health & Safety legislation
- Proven experience in managing residential or supported living services for young people
Essential Requirements:
- Compassionate, resilient, and committed to being a positive role model.
- Confident in managing challenging behaviours.
- Flexible working hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Capable of leading a staff team, completing supervisions, and managing risk.
- Understanding of OFSTED, supporting and liaising with lead professionals.
- Full UK driving license and access to a car.
- Experience supporting vulnerable young people in a residential care environment.
