We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Senior Support Worker to provide high-quality care and assistance within a care home setting. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting residents, particularly those requiring senior care, by promoting independence, dignity, and wellbeing. Responsibilities
Assist residents with daily activities such as personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility to promote independence.
Assist with medication administraition, including auditing and ordering
lead and delegate a small staff team
Develop and implement personalised care plans in collaboration with the care team, ensuring individual needs are met effectively.
Supervise and support residents during activities and social interactions to foster community engagement and emotional wellbeing.
Maintain accurate records of care provided, observations, and any changes in residents' conditions using IT systems.
Provide emotional support and companionship to residents, ensuring they feel valued and respected at all times.
Support with medication administration following prescribed guidelines and protocols.
Drive residents to appointments or outings as required, ensuring safe transportation at all times.
Communicate effectively with residents, families, and colleagues to ensure seamless care delivery.
Requirements
Previous experience working within a care home or senior care environment is highly desirable.
NVQ 2
NVQ 3 or willing to work towards
Supervising experience or leadership skills are advantageous for supporting less experienced team members.
Valid driving licence is preferred for transporting residents or running errands.
Excellent communication skills to interact empathetically with residents, families, and team members.
