Location:

Bury, BL9

Salary:

13.50 - 15.00 per hour + 60 per sleep-in shift

Contract:

Full-time, Permanent

Hours:

40 hours per week (varied shifts including days, nights, and weekends)

Senior Residential Support Worker

who can lead by example, mentor others, and contribute to a culture of safety, stability, and growth for both young people and staff.

Key Responsibilities



Lead, guide, and supervise Residential Support Workers during shifts Support the emotional, social, and physical wellbeing of young people in your care Contribute to the development and implementation of personalised care plans Act as a consistent role model, promoting a positive and nurturing environment Facilitate daily routines including education, key work, and recreational activities Identify, address, and escalate safeguarding concerns in accordance with policy Maintain detailed and accurate care records, incident logs, and reports Liaise effectively with families, professionals, and external agencies to support care planning

Essential Criteria



Level 3 or 4 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent)

*Please note: Health & Social Care qualifications do not meet regulatory requirements

Minimum of 2 years' experience in a children's residential care setting Proven understanding of safeguarding procedures, behaviour management, and risk assessment Experience in leadership, shift coordination, or mentoring peers Full UK driving licence and access to reliable transport

Desirable Experience



Experience working with children with complex needs such as autism, ADHD, trauma, or abuse Familiarity with Ofsted inspection frameworks and therapeutic models of care Knowledge of risk management, incident debriefing, and promoting reflective practice
