A new Children's Home is recruiting Senior Support Workers for its Chelmsford location. these senior support workers will be required to provide a safe, nurturing environment for the young people to flourish in and develop emotionally and behaviourally. Work in line with Aden Homes Limited values and principles and promote the young people to discover their own identity in this world, ensuring they build the self-esteem and resilience to allow them to reach their full potential. To actively engage the young people in activities in the community to allow them to develop the skills to positively engage with the wider community. To be positive role models for the young people and encourage them to make the right decisions and understand that mistakes are made to be learnt from. To have the ability to effectively work within a team and as an individual, sharing best practices to create the best outcomes for the young people. To be compassionate, patient and resilient maintaining your own self-control, enabling the young people to feel safe in your care when in crisis. To understand that information you deal with is kept under the strictest confidentiality.
Requirements for the role
Essential;
Compassion, patience, resilience and empathy
Have a genuine interest in working with vulnerable looked after children and young people
Enhanced DBS Checked
Ability to learn and develop new skills
Have good written and communication skills
Proven organisational skills and have the ability to work under supervision and unsupervised
Have the ability to remain calm under pressure and in stressful environments
Ability to engage effectively with children and young people
Good interpersonal skills, including the ability to form good working relationships with colleagues and external professionals
Proven ability to work effectively in a team
Computer literate
Proven ability of excellent listening skills
Partake enthusiastically in activities with the young people- with a proven ability of understanding the varying needs of young people and how you will work with the team to meet these
A desire to strive for the best outcomes for the young people and the company
Be willing to partake in any training as instructed by the home
At least two years' experience working in Residential Childcare
Working towards the QCF Level 5 Diploma in Residential Childcare
Live locally to Chelmsford.
DESIRABLE;
Previous experience working as a Senior Childcare Practitioner Residential Childcare Setting
Hold the Level/Level 5 in Childcare Leadership and Management
Extensive knowledge of the Children's Homes Regulations 2015 including the Quality standards
