The Role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated
Senior Support Worker
to join our dedicated team. In this role, you will lead by example, provide direct support to young people, and support the management team in delivering outstanding care.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled residential care practitioner looking to step up or expand their leadership skills in a dynamic and rewarding environment.
Key Responsibilities
Act as a senior member of the care team, supporting day-to-day operations of the home
Lead shifts and provide guidance, mentorship, and supervision to junior staff
Build trusting, therapeutic relationships with children and young people
Support with care planning, risk assessments, and behaviour management strategies
Ensure safeguarding practices are followed at all times
Contribute to a safe, stable, and supportive home environment
Communicate effectively with families, professionals, and external agencies
Take part in staff meetings, supervisions, and training as required
Assist with rota management, handovers, and admin tasks when needed
Requirements
Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) -
Essential
At least 2 years' experience in a children's residential setting -
Essential
Experience leading shifts or mentoring other staff
Strong understanding of safeguarding, child protection, and trauma-informed care
Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills
A positive attitude and genuine passion for supporting vulnerable young people
Full UK driving licence -
Highly desirable
