Senior Residential Support Worker
, you'll play a critical leadership role in guiding both the team and the young people in our care toward positive outcomes.
About the Role
As a Senior Support Worker - Therapeutic Practitioner, you'll lead by example, supporting children and young people with complex needs, while also supervising and mentoring a dedicated team of carers. You'll work collaboratively with management to ensure a safe, nurturing, and therapeutic environment where young people can achieve their full potential.
What You'll Do
Lead shifts, supervise staff, and maintain high standards of care
Support the emotional, educational, and social development of young people
Act as a role model and key worker, implementing care plans and risk assessments
Promote safeguarding practices and contribute to a safe, structured environment
Assist in rotas, performance reviews, and ongoing staff development
Liaise effectively with families, professionals, and agencies
Ensure compliance with Children's Homes Regulations 2015 and OFSTED standards
Drive therapeutic engagement and contribute to care strategy reviews
What We're Looking For
Essential:
Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
At least 2 years of experience in a children's residential setting
Experience leading shifts or supervising team members
Strong understanding of safeguarding, care planning, and risk management
Excellent communication and leadership skills
Full UK driving licence
Desirable:
Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management (or working towards it)
Experience working with trauma, SEMH, and neurodiverse needs
Familiarity with OFSTED inspections and multi-agency working
