Silverburn Care Home is currently recruiting for experienced Senior Support Workers to supervise our support workers. Working in the Pollok area of Glasgow - in close proximity to Silverburn Shopping Centre - you will be joining a passionate team in a 50-bed care home for patients living with dementia.

As a Senior Support Worker, you will be providing the utmost personal care to our residents. Contributing to people's lives daily, you will be responsible for overseeing the high quality of care provided by the social care staff through continual assessment and supervision.

You will also be tasked with motivating staff to perform to their best ability to ensure the professional operation of the home. This should also reflect a pleasant and beneficial atmosphere for our residents.

The ideal candidate for the role of Senior Support Worker will meet the following:

Essential requirements:

SVQ Level 3 qualification or above Able to communicate effectively Good level of written and oral communication Experience working with and caring for elderly Ability to administer medication in line with Medication guidelines. Be vetted for Scottish Disclosure Protection of Vulnerable Group (PVG)
As Senior Support Worker, it is your responsibility to measure the social and health needs of our residents as well as planning, monitoring and evaluating their care. You will undergo both statutory and mandatory training that is imperative for the role.

About us

Silverburn Care Home is a relatively new organisation with plans of continued expansion. Our home has been meticulously researched and built to reflect best practice dementia care having had Stirling University dementia centre carry out a design audit during the development of the home. We have 50 beds which are split into three different areas - general nursing, specialist residential dementia and specialised nursing dementia.

Job Types: Contract, Permanent

Pay: 12.75-13.00 per hour

Expected hours: 38.5 per week
