Hillside House was established in 2015 and are located in Headingly, Leeds. It is a large, detached property with 5 self-contained flats along with 3 en-suit bedrooms, a communal kitchen and living area. We are on an attractive street within easy walking distance of the Village and a 15-minute drive to the City Centre.
We are looking for a caring, committed and enthusiastic Senior Support Worker to come and join our team of established team of support workers to provide high quality and bespoke services to each of our clients.
As a Senior, you will play a pivotal role in providing frontline care to individuals, ensuring their safety, well-being, and overall quality of life. You will demonstrate leadership, support a team of Support Workers, and contribute to the smooth and effective running of the service. This role requires a dedicated, compassionate individual with the ability to lead, supervise, and manage daily operations within the service.
What we are looking for:
Always maintain confidentiality regarding care and management.
Report any serious concerns or issues directly to the Registered Manager.
Delegate tasks within legal and professional boundaries.
Attend and actively contribute to staff meetings and training sessions.
Provide sleep-in cover or night shifts as required.
Oversee and ensure the completion of tasks by support workers and undertake supervisions and observations.
Contributing to and supporting the local management team with the support and development of the Support Workers and the service, including undertaking supervisions.
Skills and Experience
Administer prescribed medication, ensuring accurate dosage, timing, and monitoring of patient care.
Safely and efficiently use care-related equipment within the home.
Respond to the emotional, physical, mental, and spiritual needs of service users.
Assist with the personal hygiene and daily care of service users.
Write daily reports on events and progress of service users.
Ensure proper handover of information at the change of shifts.
Supervise and support the implementation of care plans, ensuring they are up-to-date and adhered to.
Delegate tasks to support workers, ensuring they are completed effectively and within set guidelines.
Experience and Qualifications:
Essential: Previous experience in a senior support role or similar.
Desirable: Relevant care qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care).
Skills and Competencies:
Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to lead and manage a team effectively.
Competence in maintaining accurate records and administrative tasks.
Ability to work well within a team, as well as independently.
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage time efficiently.
Competence in administering medication and using care-related equipment.

Working as a Senior Support Worker means no two days are the same as you will be supporting our residents with their day to day lives, encouraging them to live as independently as possible. You may get involved in exciting activities outside of the home too.
Shift Patterns:
8am-8pm, working pattern
Week 1 - Monday, Tuesday, Saturday & Sunday
Week 2 - Wednesday, Thursday & Friday
