We are looking for a committed and compassionate Senior Support Worker to join our Ofsted "Good"-rated, 2-bed children's residential home in Maidenhead. Our home provides high-quality care for young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD), helping them build confidence, stability, and positive futures.
This role is ideal for an experienced Support Worker who is ready to take on more responsibility, develop leadership skills, and make a meaningful impact within a therapeutic and supportive environment.
About the Role
As a Senior Support Worker, you will lead shifts, deliver high-quality care, and support junior staff in their professional development. You will work closely with your team and external professionals to ensure that each young person's individual needs are met and that the home remains a safe, nurturing, and structured environment.
Key Responsibilities
Provide consistent, high-quality care and emotional support to young people
Act as a positive role model and mentor for junior team members
Contribute to and help implement personalised care plans and therapeutic interventions
Maintain a safe, supportive, and nurturing home environment
Ensure full compliance with safeguarding procedures and Ofsted regulations
Liaise effectively with families, social workers, and external professionals
Maintain accurate records and contribute to regular reviews and reports
Requirements
Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) - essential
Previous experience working in a children's residential care setting - required
Leadership or shift-leading experience - highly desirable
Strong communication, organisational, and team leadership skills
A resilient, empathetic, and child-centred approach
Full UK driving licence - preferred
