About the Role:





We're looking for a confident, proactive, and compassionate

Senior Support Worker (Male)

to join our team in Newent, supporting a 52-year-old gentleman diagnosed with Paranoid Psychosis, Recurrent Depressive Disorder, Asperger's Syndrome, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, and Type 2 Diabetes. AFC has full capacity and enjoys structure, routine, and positive interactions.


As a Senior Support Worker, you will play a key role in supporting him to maintain his independence, manage his environment safely, and engage in meaningful activities that promote his wellbeing. He enjoys forest walks, visiting his mother in Liverpool, and is working towards starting volunteer work.


This position is open to

male applicants only

in line with the preferences of the person we support. The ideal candidate will be calm under pressure, patient, and confident in promoting safe and positive choices. A

full driving licence is essential

due to community-based support requirements.

Key Responsibilities:





As a Senior Support Worker, you will lead by example to deliver high-quality, person-centred care. Your role will include supporting the individual with daily living, maintaining a safe and structured home environment, assisting with care plans and risk assessments, and planning and coordinating meaningful activities to promote engagement and wellbeing. You will encourage community participation, support them to achieve personal goals such as volunteering, and provide reassurance and guidance as needed. In addition, you will mentor and support team members, complete audits, ensure compliance with care standards and organisational policies, and maintain accurate records, all while promoting independence, dignity, and a positive quality of life.
