Lead with compassion. Support recovery. Transform lives.
We are growing our management team in Northampton and are seeking a Senior Support Worker who is passionate about trauma-informed, person-centred practice. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful difference to people whose lives have been shaped by trauma, mental ill-health and social challenges--supporting them to rebuild safety, confidence and independence.
As a Senior Support Worker, you will be a grounding presence for both the individuals we support and the staff you lead. You will model sensitivity, curiosity and compassion in every interaction, ensuring that our service is a place where people feel heard, respected and empowered.
What you'll do
Lead on the development and review of trauma-informed risk assessments, management plans and personalised recovery plans that prioritise safety, autonomy and emotional wellbeing.
Work closely with referring professionals, hospitals and placement partners to ensure safe, well-prepared transitions into the service.
Provide individual case management that focuses on strengths, resilience, emotional regulation and recovery goals, promoting choice and personal agency.
Deliver one-to-one sessions centred on mental health insight, medication management, safety planning, coping strategies and developing self-efficacy, all grounded in trauma-informed approaches.
Support individuals to create advance directives and feel in control of their care planning.
Plan and lead meaningful, wellbeing-focused activities and events that encourage connection, confidence and community engagement.
Help individuals prepare for independence by:
Developing everyday living and digital skills.
Assisting with move-on accommodation and transition planning.
Providing compassionate support around benefits, tenancy rights and signposting.
Facilitating access to training and employment while maintaining psychological safety in work placements.
Lead positively within the team--delivering reflective supervisions, helping staff develop trauma-informed confidence, and supporting new team members.
Maintain a safe, predictable and consistent environment, ensuring high standards of health, safety and compliance, including responsibility for secure building management and (with training) supporting upgrades to environmental and fire safety systems.
Contribute to outcome reporting by ensuring that the voices and experiences of service users shape how the service grows and adapts.
