The Client is an Ofsted-registered children's residential care provider dedicated to offering safe, supportive, and nurturing homes for young people. We focus on helping children achieve their full potential while maintaining the highest standards of care and safeguarding.

We are looking for dedicated and compassionate Senior Support Workers/ Team Leader who share our commitment to making a high-quality and meaningful difference in the lives of these children. In this role, you will contribute to the day-to-day management of the care home, consistently lead the staff team, and act as a role model, ensuring high standards of practice are maintained.

Key Responsibilities



Providing high-quality care and safeguarding for children and young people. Lead shifts effectively, ensuring staff are deployed appropriately to meet the needs of young people. Supporting children with their education, health, and social activities. Contributing to care plans and ensuring accurate records are maintained. Supervise, mentor, and coach staff, supporting their professional development. Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and child-centred care.

Care of Children & Young People



Ensure the physical, emotional, and developmental needs of young people are met in line with their individual care plans. Build positive, trusting relationships with young people, acting as a consistent and reliable role model. Support children in developing life skills, resilience, and independence. Manage challenging behaviours in line with behaviour management policies, de-escalation techniques, and therapeutic approaches. Safeguard and promote the welfare of children, ensuring that all concerns are reported in line with safeguarding policies and statutory guidance.

Operational Duties



Assist the Registered Manager and Deputy Manager in the smooth running of the home. Take responsibility for the home in the absence of senior managers, ensuring continuity of care. Support rota management, ensuring adequate staffing levels are maintained. Conduct regular supervisions and contribute to staff appraisals, performance management, and disciplinary processes where required. Assist with recruitment, induction, and training of new staff members.

Essential Requirements



NVQ Level 3 in Childcare or equivalent (essential).
Minimum 3 years' experience.

Experience in Physical intervention (PMVA / MAPA etc). Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one). A full, valid UK driving licence (desirable).
