Summary Systems engineering at GE Aerospace is a cross-functional engineering discipline centered on an approach, mindset, and process. We are looking for an experienced senior systems design & integration engineers to join our Systems and Software team.

You will be a proven systems thinker who is passionate about the \xe2\x80\x98\xe2\x80\x99big picture\xe2\x80\x99\xe2\x80\x99 and enjoy working across different engineering disciplines, bringing together mechanical, hardware and software teams, as well as considering safety, reliability and production aspects of the product. You thrive on enabling the engineer teams to design and deliver a quality product that meets the Customer needs in line with the GE Business case.



Role and Responsibilities

Technical: You will be leveraging your systems engineering experience and knowledge to technically coach, teach and lead a team to execute a robust process of design and optimization of systems across the Lockheed Martin portfolio of products. The work consists of identification and quantification of system requirements, creation of alternate system design concepts, performance of design trade studies, selection and implementation of the best designs, component and product integration and finally verification that the design is properly integrated and executed.

Customer Focus: You will collaborate with the Customer and other engineering teams and stakeholders to ensure that all milestones and deliverables are met. You will have the ability to work with the Customer to capture and understand the correct and complete requirement set that describes the system and enable the effective flow down of these to the cross functional teams.

Expertise, Coaching and Teaching: You will be committed to inclusion and diversity and passionate about coaching and technically developing engineers to reach their potential. As a senior staff engineer you will continue to develop your own specialized knowledge and be aware of latest technical developments in your area. As a member of the department leadership team you will contribute towards strategy and policy development, and ensure delivery within area of responsibility.

Qualifications / Requirements

Previous experience working with complex system designs in an aviation, automotive or similar embedded systems development environment working to rigorous standards.

An appropriate degree or HND in Engineering, Mathematics, Applied Physics or similar subject, or equivalent experience

Previous experience in leading team-based projects and providing direction and coaching to less experienced staff.

Strong oral and written communication skills.

Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.

Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.

Demonstrated ability to document, plan, and execute programs.
