DEPARTMENT: Talent Acquisition & Inclusion - Early Careers
LOCATION: London, Glasgow, Birmingham, Salford, Cardiff - Hybrid working with an expectation of being able to be based in the office approx. 2 days per week.
PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: 35,800 - 41,767 depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights. London weighting of 5,319 if applicable.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

We're now looking for a passionate and experienced recruiter to join our Early Careers Talent Acquisition team, focusing on our Editorial apprenticeship schemes in Journalism and Production. We are looking for someone that will thrive off working in a challenging and busy environment with the ability to draw on their experience to hit the ground running. We are always looking to keep the candidate and stakeholder sat the central point in all we do to deliver high quality, diverse apprentice hires into the BBC.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT

  • Lead the full recruitment cycle for either the Journalism or Production Apprenticeship schemes, working closely with a Talent Acquisition Consultant to deliver efficient, inclusive, and high-quality hiring outcomes
  • Drive candidate experience, consistently meeting key recruitment metrics while ensuring inclusive practices are embedded throughout the process
  • Collaborate across teams, partnering with the the BBC Academy and internal stakeholders across all editorial disciplines to ensure a smooth attraction and hiring journey
  • Manage candidate progression, including application screening, ATS record-keeping, overseeing assessments, and maintaining clear, timely communication with candidates
  • Coordinate and run assessment centres, ensuring candidates, assessors, and scheme leaders are fully supported
  • Work both independently and collaboratively, owning end-to-end delivery for assigned schemes while contributing to wider team projects that shape the future of early careers recruitment at the BBC.
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
  • In-house early careers recruitment experience - delivering inclusive, high-impact strategies and large-scale campaigns
  • Proven experience delivering complex and large volume recruitment campaigns end to end, including delivering a calendar of assessment activity and overseeing the organisation of assessment centres for large volumes of candidates
  • Up-to-date knowledge of best practices, trends and assessment methodologies for recruiting entry-level talent
  • A passion for supporting emerging talent, acting as a trusted first point of contact for young people and career changers
  • Evidence of embracing and advocating diversity and inclusion in culture and business needs and to be able to build strong, trusted and inclusive relationships across People and HR teams and across the business
  • Confident communication with all stakeholders and analytical skills to translate data into actionable insights.
