About the role




We are looking for a strategic and experienced

Senior Talent Partner

with a strong focus on legal recruitment to join our People & Talent Team. This individual will serve as the primary recruitment business partner for specialist and senior hiring across Contracts, Compliance, Funds, and Leadership, while also leading broader talent strategy initiatives.


This is a high-impact role with real ownership and visibility. You'll shape how we grow and scale top-tier talent, influence leadership decisions, and contribute meaningfully to our people strategy at a critical stage of our growth.

Legal Hiring Expertise



Drive direct sourcing strategies with minimal reliance on external agencies. Currently we have a 100% direct recruitment rate for our legal hires. Bring in-depth knowledge of legal recruitment and candidate assessment, including carrying out first round screening calls and proposing which candidates to shortlist. Manage complex offers and negotiations in partnership with the General Counsel and key internal stakeholders.

Strategic Business Partnering



Act as the lead talent partner for hiring across all legal teams and senior hires across the firm. Collaborate with senior leadership and stakeholders to shape hiring strategies aligned to business needs. Lead and develop the early careers hiring strategy. Own and evolve the contractor and consultant hiring strategy to ensure agility and scalability.

Project & Programme Leadership



Deliver strategic talent initiatives, such as building a freelance/consultant community and supporting offshoring and international hiring projects. Work cross-functionally to align talent programmes with business priorities.

Team Leadership



Recruit, train and line manage a new Talent Acquisition Partner - Tech & Commercial roles (not yet hired) providing mentorship and strategic oversight.

Talent Strategy & Alignment



Partner with the Head of People on workforce planning, role design, and EVP evolution. Collaborate with the Training Director to deliver graduate and early talent programmes. Define and execute the external supplier strategy (eg. ATS, job boards, external recruitment partners) with support from the TA Partner. Participate in leadership team discussions, bringing a TA lens to company-wide decisions and aligning hiring with future growth plans.

Requirements



Experience & Background



5+ years in recruitment, with a minimum of 2 years in legal hiring. Experience in-house law firm or within an ALSP highly preferred. Proven track record of partnering with multiple business functions. Strong direct sourcing capabilities and well-networked in the legal talent market. Comfortable managing complex and senior-level hiring processes. Passion for early careers hiring - must genuinely want to engage with graduates and emerging talent.

Takes a proactive, long-term view of talent acquisition and workforce planning, aligning recruitment plans with business strategy. Demonstrates deep knowledge of the legal talent tech market and can adapt hiring strategies in response to hiring challenges, strategy or market shifts. Builds trust and credibility with senior leaders and hiring managers in communications, interactions and delivery of hiring needs. Confidently influences and challenges senior stakeholders to ensure alignment on hiring strategy and role requirements. Effectively plans and executes recruitment programmes (e.g., early careers, Americas, UK and international hiring). Holds self and others accountable for delivering quality candidates at pace needed to sustain Avantia growth. Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment with shifting priorities. Responds positively to feedback, setbacks, or difficult conversations. Trusted advisor who upholds company values: Empowering Our People, Championing Excellence, Building the Future. Previous experience desirable in leading and empowering direct reports, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.

Remote/Hybrid work environment:

We expect you to spend 1-2 days per week in the London office in order to welcome new starters, for occasional in person interviews and cross functional collaboration.
