What will you contribute?



Finastra is currently seeking a Senior Tax Analyst, International to join the Global Tax Reporting group in our Tax team. This brand new role requires a highly technical and driven tax professional to support the international (excluding US and Canadian) tax compliance and income tax accounting for a complex multi-national organization. This position reports to the Tax Partner, Global Tax Reporting.


Responsibilities & Deliverables:



Your deliverables will include, but are not limited to, the following:


Calculate tax provisions and prepare end to end tax compliance activities for the complex international group of entities (excluding the US and Canada). This includes working closely with local finance managers, the accounting team and outsource service providers to ensure returns and payments are both timely and accurate. Prepare return to provision analysis, calculate estimated payments, manage and track notices received from tax authorities, provide journal entries to accounting teams, resolve ad hoc queries relating to tax and tax accounting. Support the Tax Leads as required. This could include providing data analysis, preparing memos on tax positions, gathering data to respond to tax authority enquiries, or involvement in internal projects. Demonstrate initiative and a willingness to drive the development and continuous improvements in tax policies, processes, and systems for tax reporting across the region. Pro-active identification of opportunities to optimize our tax affairs by keeping on top of both international tax developments and what is happening commercially within the organization. Meet performance metrics to provide confidence on the overall governance and efficiencies of the region's tax reporting and compliance, including driving improvements in availability of data analytics and the process around cash tax forecasting.

Required Experience:



CPA/chartered accountant or chartered tax advisor Demonstrated experience of calculating tax provisions and preparing tax compliance for entities outside of the US and Canada. ASC740 technical tax accounting expertise. Purchase accounting experience preferred. Ability to communicate with a broad range of stakeholders and to drive complex transformations involving cross-functional teams Strong writing, analytical, and oral presentation skills including creativity in presentation materials. Advanced excel skills and an ability to understand end to end tax processes and systems.
