Team Lead - Supported Accommodation



Location:

Preston, Wigan, Chorley

Pay:

14 - 15 per hour

Shift Pattern:

2on 4off (24hr shift, sleep 11pm - 7am)

We are now looking for an experienced Team Lead to join our Supported Accommodation Service. Here at Bear Care Services, it is vital that we find the right person to support each young person in our service and work with our amazing current staff team.

Bear Care Services are a provider of Ofsted regulated Supported Accommodation based in the Northwest of England. We have four homes based in Wigan, Preston and Chorley.



As a Team Lead and working closely with our experienced management team we are expecting you to set the gold standard for both young people and support workers.

Leadership and Management:



Support Plans, Independence Plans, Pathway plans and transition plans updating and delegating task for each young person to staff members in homes and communicating those changes and updates to management Supervision, assisting your Deputy and Service Manager to conduct regular supervisions, document and agree key action points for each employee Audit prior work from support workers, identifying areas of improvement and speaking with management to implement training strategies

Protection:



Safeguarding is at the centre of everything you do on a day-to-day basis. Ensuring all risk assessments are understood, followed and updated when required. Understand key policies and procedures in areas such as but not limited to CSE & CCE

Accommodation:



As a Team lead you will be responsible to own the Accommodation standard for that home. All H&S and Due diligence must be understood, followed and updated. Homes maintenance and improvements are logged and actioned in a timely manner.

Support:



Oversee the development and implementation of support plans tailored to each young person's needs, focusing on their personal, educational and emotional development. Promote independence, life skills, and positive outcomes for residents through structured programs and day-to-day activities. Ensure safeguarding protocols are followed and any concerns regarding the safety or well-being of the young people are reported and acted upon appropriately. Maintain close communication with external agencies, including social workers, educational institutions and mental health services. Act as a point of contact for families and external stakeholders regarding the progress and welfare of young people.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:



Experience in supported accommodation, social care or youth work

, ideally with young people aged 16-18 experience.

A thorough understanding of safeguarding practices

and relevant child protection legislation.

Knowledge of the challenges faced by young people transitioning into independence

, including mental health issues, education, and housing.

Excellent communication skills

, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage with young people, staff, and external stakeholders.

Problem-solving and crisis management skills

, with the ability to remain calm under pressure.

Organisational skills

to manage multiple priorities, rotas, and administrative tasks effectively.

Relevant Qualifications:

level 4 in Health and Social Care

Desirable Skills:



Relevant qualifications

in social care, youth work, or leadership (e.g Level 5 in Health and Social Care or equivalent or willing to work towards).

Experience working with young people with

complex needs

, including behavioural, mental health or substance misuse issues (Preferred but not essential).
