PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: 37000-46000 depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
We're looking for a creative and talented multiskilled Senior Technical Operator which a particular emphasis and gallery Sound Supervisor skills. You'll be able to work at the highest level on some of our flagship output including BBC Breakfast, BBC News at One, Sports News, BBC North West Tonight and BBC News. Work is varied, lively and great fun.

North TV Operations is a team of approximately 74 people who provide a range of technical and craft services to BBC News, BBC Sport and BBC Local based at MediaCityUK. BBC Media Operations is at the heart of delivering incredible content across all our platforms for all audiences. Comprising around nine hundred people, it manages the craft and production operations for the BBC's news, radio, and some sport services across London, Salford, Birmingham with teams across the main UK sites. Our team captures, edits, and produces output 24/7 for TV, radio, and digital platforms. We are experts in our field, with exceptional technical, operational, and production creativity at our core.
YOUR KEY REPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT
We are looking to recruit a Senior Technical Operator into our team to work on our flagship programmes. This may include shifts on BBC Breakfast, BBC News at One, Sports News, regional output and many more.
You will be working to deliver gallery sound on our flagship output as well as being able to multiskill into at least one other specialism. We would like you to take a proactive role across Media Operations and as a Senior Technical Operator we will look to increase your existing skills with training and mentoring
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
Extensive experience in a broadcast sound environment working in galleries or sound control rooms.
A background in live and pre recorded output
Familiar with working in a broadcast environment on live programming often in a pressurised situation.
Comfortable working resiliently in a fast-moving creative environment
Able to communicate clearly and assertively.
DESIRED BUT NOT REQUIRED
A good understanding of health and safety issues and best practice is important.
